250 Years of the Hohenheim Gardens

The Hohenheim Gardens are a key research facility of the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. Covering an area of more than 30 hectares, they form the largest part of the campus. The oldest section of the gardens, the Exotic Garden or Franziskas Dörfle, was founded in 1776 by Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg and Franziska von Hohenheim (see Historical Development of the Hohenheim Gardens).

Exotischer Garten

We want to celebrate this 250th anniversary with a series of events and would like to invite all interested parties to these events and activities. Join us in enjoying the wonderful gardens that have developed over the last 250 years and are now used for teaching and research at the university, for recreation and for further education. In addition to many planted species, the gardens are also home to many wild plant species and many animals and also make a positive contribution to the climate in Plieningen.
